WIPThe Why and When
Well number 1.. who doesn’t think riced out configs are cool. 2 it’s fun to masocistically drive myself insane optimizing and debugging configs.
I spent my first few years in my CS degree at Hunter College in NYC. They were BIG on pushing the Linux ecosystem. Thats where I was introduced to VIM and I fell in love. I just made sense. why tf do I need my mouse for anything, who’s bright idea was it to allow normies to point and click when keystrokes are so much faster. They allowed point and click creep and I’m mad. I later transferred to College of Staten Island for CS, they are POINT AND CLICKERs. “Forced” to use VS Studio and windows.
The Who cares
not many people in my daily life. I show everyone I can my riced out Arch(BTW) set up (actually Omarchy but eventaully I’ll git gud) no one cares. “ahh cool” “uuuhhuhh you use this” “oh fresh bro” yeea yea we know. I like it
The What and How
Soo I’ve been using the lazy plugin manager for NeoVim. After trying all the ‘nvim distros’ starting with the best ‘NvChad’ I basically cobbled togethere my favorite plugins and optimized the workflow with tmux. Hyprland I basically ripped off the Omarchy configs and expanded on it slightly with my old config when I solo ran arch for a few months(more later of course when i have time) The rest is just gaurding that my configs don’t break on Mac because I do enjoy using my mac for dev a lot more now and WSL for work because well.
Here’s a snapshot from my Mac

The Misery
Even now at my current employment I’m stuck with windows, neovim is out right disallowed on work PC’s… great… glad I work from home
